About
The Calavera garbancera, created by Posada, is now adorned with gold, pearls, and diamonds from those who left everything at the entrance to Mictlán, believing that the material would transcend to the place of eternal rest. Now, Rivera’s Catrina repeats herself, forgetting that she is mere bones. It will be Xolo who discovers that beneath her dress lies the Chiconahuapan, and as it appears, day and night settle upon the skeleton’s gown, in a dual and cyclical vision of the universe.
The Project is part of "Catrinas Festivas", an intervention of sculptural pieces for the benefit of The Attention Care Unit for Children and Adolescents at the Civil Hospital of Guadalajara, "Recuperando Estrellas".
